Capital APMS is an integrated accounting and property management system designed to meet the needs of an organisation which owns and manages multi-tenanted office buildings.
It is in use in several companies in Australasia, including Trans Tasman Properties Ltd, for whom it was originally developed.
From September 2008 it has been released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. The system depends on the Progress RDBMS, which unfortunately is not free, open-source software.
A conversion effort is also underway to provide an alternative implementation using the PostgreSQL database and a variety of front-end clients. The database conversion process is already in place, and a start has been made on providing user interfaces in both a PHP web application and a Perl/GTK interface.
Morphoss will be devoting equal time to this conversion process on the basis of one hour working on the conversion for each hour we are paid to work on the older, Progress RDBMS based system.
